however, there is more to getting the mortgage than just getting the perfect score

The previous responder is correct, it%26#039;s not like it was 3 years ago when everyone was getting 100% finance. Also if you can come up with a good down payment a few things will happen. You will get a better interest rate for one and you will have reduced the principal that you pay interest rate on for two.

That is a very high score. Depends on the lender. Try Wachovia, Countrywide or FNMC (National City).

By the way, 100% mortgages are usually indicative of someone who can not afford to buy. They have very high default rates, and therefore the interest rates are higher.

If you can%26#039;t afford a full 20% down, it is usually better to get a piggy back mortgage where you get a low interest loan for 80% of the sales price and then a higher interest loan for the remaining 20% (but maybe only a 15 year, so you pay it off sooner).

If you are able to put anything down, you should in order to get the best return on your investment!

There are still a very small number of lenders who are offering 100% mortgages in the UK for people other than professionals. You have a good credit score but you may not earn enough to satisfy the lenders that the mortgage will be affordable to you and they are very careful with lending on such a highly geared mortgage under the current climate.
